Within the walls of this rather unremarkable historical building tucked away on a side street in the Karaköy district, this restaurant with intimate lighting is done out in a tasteful palette of dark brown hues, and displays regularly changing artwork. To showcase his creativity, Ömer Akosman focuses exclusively on an à la carte approach. His dishes are not unnecessarily complicated, but bursting with flavour – spiciness and robust sauces make the difference here. An intense gravy and garnishes such as marinated tomatoes, kalamata olives and crispy polenta are the perfect accompaniment to the patiently braised beef.
