In the 15th district, Sören Herzig's restaurant is on the ground floor of the former Dorotheum Fünfhaus (auction house and pawn office). In this listed building dating back to the 1920s, the dining space was once an auction hall and has a minimalist, industrial-style atmosphere that is reminiscent of a New York gallery – casual and original. Beautiful parquet flooring, comfortable designer chairs and artwork by the likes of Peter Jellitsch and Clemens Wolf underscore the tastefully stylish interior. The spectacular rooftop terrace has a fantastic view, making it a great spot for an aperitif or nightcap. As for the food, the modern dishes are made from the best ingredients and without excessive gimmickry, eg trout, almond, koji, sea buckthorn. There is a set menu in a large or smaller format, which can also be made vegetarian by prior arrangement.
