Simplicity has always been key here ever since the business first opened as a modest garage selling nothing more than the traditional “pão de queijo”. Nowadays, owner-chef Manuelle Ferraz makes a point of rekindling her roots through home-style dishes that combine the cooking of the Bahia and Minas Gerais regions, albeit with technical skill and a focus on top-quality ingredients. In this, the chef’s very first Baianeira venture, savour options such as the unmissable pão de queijo filled with “carne de panela” (stewed beef) or “requeijão de corte” cheese. For your main, choose one of the signature dishes such as the beef “picadinho” with egg and plantain, daily specials and, on Thursdays, the superb “feijoada” stew. We can also recommend the “goró de mainha”, an artisanal Cachaça, a spirit made according to a family recipe, which highlights authentic Brazilian flavours to the full!
