If you don't take the side entrance, you can reach this fine dining restaurant via the lobby of the luxurious Parkhotel Egerner Höfe, just beyond the elegant bar and decorative glass wine cabinets. The setting is upmarket, slick and modern, with three Japanese holly trees housed in eye-catching glass cubes. Floor-to-ceiling windows afford views onto the grounds and sculptures outside. Traditional French cuisine meets modern innovation in this kitchen, where dishes are expertly crafted with particular emphasis on regional produce. Fish from the lake and other local produce are skilfully showcased. The exquisitely flavoursome Tegernsee char, for example, which is harmoniously combined with cauliflower and mace, deserves a mention here. The set menu ranges from five to nine courses.
