A big and bright red wood-burning oven is not merely a visual centerpiece at 21 Greenpoint, it is also the soul of Chef/owner Homer Murray's thoroughly pleasing American fare. Similarly, the space oozes with that appealingly familiar feel, featuring plank floors, mosaics and disheveled walls. 
There are dishes for every mood on this daily changing menu, from vegetables, pastas and wood-fired pizzas (on Wednesdays) to fish, meats and wonderful desserts. If on offer, try the roasted artichoke hearts with saffron aioli and roasted pumpkin seeds, with a side of freshly made sesame-crusted focaccia, of course! Spaghetti Meg Ryan is a saucy plate of pasta tucked with bocconcini for a deliciously creamy twirl.
