Although this restaurant’s excellent location is best appreciated in summer, with tables overlooking the river and charming views of the castle lit up at night, the attractive dining room also has an elegant and welcoming ambience influenced by the chef’s interior design skills. The cuisine is Mediterranean in style, with a focus on fish and seafood – the shellfish is excellent, as is the delicious grilled sea bass with buttered mashed potatoes, and the mouthwatering scampi soup with fried scampi tempura. The wines available by the glass are mainly Slovenian, although there’s also an interesting Riesling Gruss from Alsace that makes an excellent pairing with fish and seafood.
